The Bachelor Pad sits on a gorgeous piece of property overlooking Chuckanut Bay in Bellingham. The homeowner, a single young contractor, wanted a small, efficient, affordable modern home. He was open to recycled materials and shared spaces to make the program work on a tight budget. We reclaimed fir doors from Madison Middle School in Seattle, installed an antique claw foot tub, and used a found library ladder in lieu of a stair to the loft space. Some building materials include concrete floors, Marmoleum, Hardie Panel siding, Galvanized Aluminum siding, and MDO ceilings.
