The homeowners wanted to add space with privacy for their parents to live during Seattle’s short summer months. We converted half of the main floor into a hotel suite that can be closed off from the rest of the house, and added a second floor to house 3 additional bedrooms and a stone tiled bathroom. We needed to maintain and protect the investment to the original house, which took some surgical demolition and thoughtful carpentry.
