Magnolia Modern Addition

Industrial, eclectic, innovative and organic were just some of the goals for this project. Like many other 40’s homes in Magnolia, there was an issue of space, growth, and lot coverage. When faced with these challenges, sometimes you’ve got to go up. The clients were interested in creating a suite-like space for aging parents while giving their young family space of its own. The challenges were combining more modern materials with the existing sandstone brick of the original home, as well as creating a floorplan that worked with the tight footprint. Axiom collaborated with the stylish homeowners to create a stunning addition while keeping some of the original charm. Exterior materials included corrugated corten steel and cement board panels.
