Job description

The Assistant Superintendent in conjunction with the Superintendent coordinates and manages labor and subcontractors logistically and efficiently while overseeing quality control on the job.  The role demands excellent customer service and communication skills to exceed the expectations of homeowners and clients. Assistant Superintendents also co-manage jobsite safety on every job to ensure company compliance with local, state and federal laws regarding workplace safety.

REPORTS TO: Superintendents, Project Managers, Director of Operations, Owners

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage crews of carpenters and laborers effectively and efficiently
• Maintain and follow a detailed budget daily
• Adapt to change—daily or long-term—with flexibility and a good attitude
• Oversee and enforce general workplace and construction safety regulations
• Maintain a clean and safe jobsite and working environment
• May require travel between jobs as necessary
• Coordinate Subcontractors effectively and efficiently on site
• Attend project management meetings on site and in-office as needed
• Plan labor for assigned jobs and execute it accordingly
• Report weekly to the Project Managers on the progress of your jobs
• Help the procurement team as needed for jobsite cabinets, finishes, coverings, etc.
• Problem-solve issues onsite as they occur
• Attend client meetings as necessary
• Represent Axiom in a professional manner
  • including but not limited to appearance, demeanor, and overall attitude.
• Continue to train new carpenters in the trade to create a more collaborative environment

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2-4 years of carpentry skills a plus
• Must participate in and pass a driving record history check as well as a background check
• Positive attitude and ability to follow direction
• Ability to commit to learning new processes, work efficiently, and multi-task

COMPENSATION:

Full-time, M-F. Hourly position starting at $40/hour
