IMCO Construction Headquarters

Axiom collaborated with IMCO General Construction on this completely new design and build of IMCO’s LEED Certified corporate offices and two heavy equipment maintenance drive-thru shops.  Axiom’s work on this project included architectural design from the conceptual stage through design development, as well as interior design, and on to being the general contractor for the project, while leveraging IMCO’s specialties as needed.   IMCO specializes in industrial and heavy civil construction, and their headquarters relocated with the idea of designing a more sophisticated office with a  lot more space.  The design intent was to showcase the civil materials used in their projects like concrete, steel, and industrial details. They also wanted to expose as much of the structure as possible while adhering to the standards of LEED certification. The main office hub is a cast in-place concrete tilt-up with exposed steel structure. The floor plan has a variety of spaces for open collaborative work and bidding, as well as private offices and break rooms. Reclaimed barn wood flooring, locally sourced materials, and steel and glass partition walls give the space warmth while celebrating a modern, industrial vibe. The project also includes a rain catching cistern system, a waste oil reclamation system, and LEED certified mechanical systems.
